How to Use Altomate Payroll: Expert

On this page

On Expert, our payroll team prepares your payroll each month. You provide the information, approve each pay run in your Payroll Hub, and pay your staff through your bank.

What Expert includes

  • RM500 a month for 5 employees, plus RM50 for each additional employee, before 8% SST.
  • Monthly payroll prepared by our team, with a dedicated account manager.
  • We prepare the monthly statutory files (EPF, SOCSO and EIS, and PCB) and file them after you approve the payroll run. Nothing is submitted until you’ve signed off.
  • Optional add-ons: Expense Claim and Clock In / Out, RM3 per employee per month each.

Billed separately

Prices exclude 8% SST.

  • Form E and CP8D: RM500 a year for the first 5 employees, plus RM50 for each additional employee.
  • Form EA: RM180 per employee a year.
  • CP22, CP22A or CP21 filing: RM100 per staff member, per event.
  • Employment contract stamping: RM150 per contract (includes RM10 stamp duty).
  • Offer letter preparation: RM300 per letter.
  • One-time payroll setup: RM1,000, only for companies not yet registered with all five of EPF, SOCSO, PERKESO EIS, PCB and HRD Corp. Non-refundable once done. Already registered with all five? There’s no setup fee.

Activate Expert

  1. Sign in to your Altomate account at app.altomate.io, open Payroll and choose Expert.
  2. Enter your employee count and select any add-ons.
  3. If your company isn’t yet registered with all five bodies, add One-Time Payroll Setup.
  4. Select your Payroll start date and check the first payroll month shown.
  5. Check the subscription, add-ons, setup fee, SST and total, then pay. See payment methods.

The 20th cut-off: subscribe before the 20th and we run this month’s payroll. On or after the 20th, your first payroll is next month.

Complete your company details

After activation, complete Company Payroll Info:

  1. Enter your SSM registration number, LHDN employer (E) number, EPF number, SOCSO/EIS number, tax reference type and number, and HRD Corp number.
  2. Set your payroll cut-off, processing and approval days, and your salary payment date.
  3. If you added one-time setup, provide your company bank details, number of employees and business address, and upload your SSM company profile and each director’s IC or passport.
  4. Save. You can come back and update these details later.

Each month

  1. Send your account manager employee changes, salary changes, claims and adjustments by your agreed cut-off.
  2. Our team prepares your payroll.
  3. When it’s ready, open the month under Pending approvals in your Payroll Hub and check it: employee breakdown, gross pay, deductions, employer contributions, net pay and total cost.
  4. If it’s correct, approve it. If something is wrong, don’t approve: ask your account manager to correct it.

Pay your staff

Approving a pay run doesn’t pay salaries. Your company pays staff through its bank.

  1. After approval, find the month under Salary payment file and select Download.
  2. Upload the file to your bank and complete the bank’s payment steps.

The file matches your payroll bank: Maybank, CIMB, Public Bank or Hong Leong. If you pay through another bank, use the Manual Payments file to pay staff yourself.

New hires and leavers

Tell your account manager about new hires and leavers in time for the filing deadlines: CP22 within one month of a new employee starting, and CP22A no later than one month before a leaver’s last working day. CP22, CP22A, CP21, contract stamping and offer letters are charged per request (see Billed separately above).
