DIY Free is for companies with up to 3 employees. You prepare payroll in AltomateHR, approve each pay run in your Payroll Hub, and pay your staff through your bank.
What DIY Free includes
- Payroll calculation (salary, EPF, SOCSO, EIS and PCB) and payslips, for up to 3 employees.
- DIY Free doesn’t include the salary bank payment file or the statutory files (EPF, SOCSO and EIS, and PCB).
- To add a fourth employee, or to get the bank payment file and statutory files, upgrade to DIY Paid: RM30 a month for 3 employees, plus RM10 for each additional employee, before 8% SST.
Activate DIY Free
- Sign in to your Altomate account at app.altomate.io and open Payroll.
- Choose DIY, then Free, and enter your employee count.
- Select Activate free plan. No payment is needed.
Complete your company details
After activation, complete Company Payroll Info:
- Enter your SSM registration number, LHDN employer (E) number, EPF number, SOCSO/EIS number, tax reference type and number, and HRD Corp number.
- Set your payroll cut-off, processing and approval days, and your salary payment date.
- Save. You can come back and update these details later.
Prepare monthly payroll
- In your Payroll Hub, select Open in Payroll App. AltomateHR opens without a separate sign-in.
- Update new joiners, leavers, salary changes and adjustments.
- Run payroll after your cut-off, check it, then select Send for approval.
For the detailed steps inside AltomateHR, see How to Run Monthly Payroll.
Approve the pay run
- In your Payroll Hub, open the month under Pending approvals.
- Check the employee breakdown, gross pay, deductions, employer contributions, net pay and total cost, especially new joiners, leavers and salary changes.
- If it’s correct, approve it. If something is wrong, don’t approve: fix the record or adjustment in AltomateHR and re-run payroll.
If you can’t see the approval option, ask your account owner to check your payroll access.
Pay your staff
Approving a pay run doesn’t pay salaries. Your company pays staff through its own bank.
DIY Free doesn’t produce a salary bank payment file. Pay each employee their net pay, as shown in the approved payroll and on their payslip, through your bank. To get a bank payment file you can upload to your bank, upgrade to DIY Paid.
Your filing responsibilities
On DIY Free, you submit your contributions and employer returns yourself, using the amounts in your approved payroll:
- EPF, SOCSO and EIS, and PCB each month.
- New-hire and leaver forms, for example CP22 within one month of a new employee starting, and CP22A no later than one month before a leaver’s last working day.
To get the statutory files prepared for you to upload, upgrade to DIY Paid.
